Endocrinology is the study of hormones; chemical messengers from one cell to another.

Hormones influence or control a wide range of physiological activities, such as growth, development, metabolism, level of alertness, sugar regulation and appetite, bone growth, etc.

You may find that problems with hormones and the way they work contribute to some of the major diseases of mankind; for example, diabetes, thyroid conditions, pituitary conditions, some neurological problems, appetite and obesity, and bone growth.

Our Endocrinology department is staffed by Justina Deitz, D.O., Dr. Anna Chernov, M.D., and Rebecca Sandler, M.D., who are both Board Certified in Endocrinology and Metabolism and together, has over 40 years of professional experience. In addition, Maria Soper, APN is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner in the care of Endocrinology patients. She is Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management.
