Patient Greeter/Portal Trainer (Part-Time)

The objectives for this position are:

  • Coordinate with the office supervisor in identifying patients waiting in our reception area who are interested in being trained in our Patient Portal and have enough waiting time
    to be trained
  • Educate patients in using our Patient Portal, in learning how to access lab results & how to send messages to the practice, as well as creating a new portal account
  • Conduct this training quickly and efficiently, without interfering with patient flow or doctor visits.

Medical Patient Services/Call Center Representative


Bergen Medical Associates, is recognized as one of the premier multi-specialty healthcare providers in the Northern New Jersey/Rockland communities. We have employment opportunities for experienced Medical Patient Services/Call Center Representatives.  Hours will be 10:00am to 6pm, Monday-Friday.  Knowledge of medical terminology and a desire to work in healthcare is strongly encouraged for this position.

Job Summary:

This position is the primary contact for all incoming calls in a very busy medical practice, this is the call center that handles all our offices.  Your role is to provide excellent customer service to our patients by delivering the highest levels of courtesy & respect.


  • Respond to incoming phone requests from patients, Physicians offices and hospitals with courteous & accurate information to ensure patient satisfaction.
  •  Utilize medical software to make, change or cancel appointments, register patients & accurately document all patient requests and information.
  •  Utilize Outlook & phones to coordinate with other staff members to resolve patient issues & to provide our patients with the information they are seeking.
  •  Ensure call efficiency while maintaining excellent patient service.
  •  To work professionally with all team members of the Call Center and all Bergen Medical employees.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working in an inbound medical customer service/call center environment
  •  Excellent communication skills: verbal, written & phone etiquette
  •  Excellent computer, typing and data entry skills
  •  Proficient with Outlook & working with dual monitors
  •  Skilled in Medical Terminology recommended
